Quora: What are some side effects of only being able to see out of one eye?

Two eyes give us a natural ability to perceive depth (assuming normal eye alignment) so perhaps the biggest problem would be reduced depth perception. I say reduced because we can still use things like the relative size of objects and parallax to get an impression of depth, but it isn’t as good as what’s accomplished with two functional eyes.

Another significant complication would be reduced peripheral vision. Close one eye and notice the reduction in your awareness of surroundings on that side.
